Science of Breath Radio 68: the Revolution Will Not Be Televised
-

Have you ever been kicking back watching TV, enjoying the mild delusion of it all, when suddenly you had the feeling as if the joke was on you? Maybe you began to notice that the commercials had nothing to do with your life. Then, you switched the channel and realized that the news was only reporting the most vile of stories. Suddenly, you began flipping through channels rapidly, searching for something with meaning and substance, but to no avail. At last, you gave up the desperate search by watching the mind numbing babble of Hip Hop Wives or some other random reality mess. If you’ve ever had this feeling, you are definitely not alone.
My main beef with the media is the lack of responsible messaging. It seems that our beloved establishment would rather warp our minds around materialism and murder, than self knowledge and overstanding. Why is that? Would it not be in all of our interest to supply the masses with a constant supply of life affirming messages and truthful information? Of course it would. This begs the question, why are we constantly supplied with negative imagery about how much we lack, and what “they” can sell us to become whole again. When I think about all this, it just feels like the powers that be have vested interest in keeping us misinformed and fearful.
Granted, the world that we live in is going thru tremendous transitions, and it’s not looking all that pretty out there. However, clarity and honesty in the media would allow us all to move thru this period more smoothly. The fact that misinformation is used to control and manipulate the populace crushes my faith in the ability of the media to guide us thru any challenge. In my opinion, by the time they tell the truth, it is already too late, and they were forced into it. That is, if the actual truth is ever really revealed. It is my hope that in the coming days, the media begins to serve the people, and not itself. Until that time, stay tuned with an eye for the nonsense.
